Man admits torching hospital shower

A MAN has admitted purposely setting a shower cubicle on fire in a hospital.

Brian Hawkins, of no fixed abode, admitted a charge of arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered at Warrington Crown Court on Friday.

The incident took place on January 7 this year on a ward at Hollins Park hospital.

The 47-year-old also admitted a charge of assault by beating on January 19.

The case was adjourned for pre-sentence reports before sentencing on March 17.
