Soap star takes on new challenge

FAMOUS face Helen Noble may be best known for her screen role in one of the nation's favourite soaps.

But the former Hollyoaks actress has now swapped life in front of the cameras for one of her toughest roles yet - living as a homeless person.

The 22-year-old has this week moved in alongside other homeless people from Warrington at a YMCA.

She is there as part of a public campaign to raise awareness of the work of Halton Drug Action Team (DAT) and its partner agencies which serves some young people in Warrington.

Helen, who has just ended her starring role in the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk, says the campaign is designed to prevent people making mistakes that might have long lasting consequences on their lives.

She said: "I am delighted to be involved. Hopefully young people will take advantage of the advice that's now available. I'm also really looking forward to sharing in the experiences of the residents at the YMCA."

During her stay Helen will sample some of the training activities provided by the YMCA and take part in activities designed to rebuild social skills.
