Belt victory

A POLICE officer has made a great start to the new kickboxing season.

Adam McFarlane won the counties middleweight title when he defeated Leigh's Tony Parker by technical knockout in the second round of Saturday's AKA show at Lowton Labour Club.

The 24-year-old from Padgate has been training with Neil Holden's Warrington Kickboxing Studio for two years.

There were wins for other fighters from the Academy, with welterweight Chris Heath, welterweight Phil Williams, middleweight Lynsey Bowness, middleweight Claire Baldwin and cruiserweight James Young winning on points, while middleweight Malcolm Mellor won with a technical knockout.
