Perth hope

PROFESSIONAL golfer Phil Archer started the Johnnie Walker Classic today, Thursday, in good spirits after a respectable finish at the Dubai Desert Classic.

Archer, who is the professional at Birchwood Golf Club, travelled to Perth in Western Australia earlier this week in readiness for his fifth event of the 2006 PGA European Tour.

He made the trip after earning almost 6,000 Euros in prize money by finishing joint 55th in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday.
