A growing force

WARRINGTON Gymnastics Club are proving to be an even greater force after being joined by Padgate Gymnastics Club's competitors and coaches.

Warrington impressed at the weekend's Cheshire and Merseyside County Grades Championships in Neston.

Twelve gymnasts qualified for the regional finals.

Warrington claimed five of the six positions for the regional final at grade four in-age level, while the club took six of the top 10 positions for the seven and eight year olds' age group.

The show-stealers were regional finalists Georgina Scott, who was overall champion at grade four in-age; Rebecca Reynolds, who secured silver place overall at grade four in-age; Charlotte Whittle, who achieved silver spot overall at grade four out-of-age; Lauren Illidge, who sealed silver position overall at grade five in-age; and Caitlin Cowie, who finished in bronze medal position overall at grade six in-age.

Warrington's other regional finalists after passing their grades are Lois Byron, Megan Gilbert, Rebecca Harrison, Amber Allford, Gemma Kersey and Alicia Pierce.

Grades were also passed by Jessica Maio, Alice Wadsworth, Natasha Plumpton, Rachel Craven, Madeleine Millar, Kyra Allen, Charlotte Ward, Jade Twine and Sophie Jacques.
