Novelis staff show their caring side

STAFF at the Novelis aluminium recycling plant at Latchford Locks shared the Christmas spirit with their colleagues in a more charitable way.

Instead of sending each other Christmas cards, the team donated money to Hope House hospice.

And the charitable act has raised more than £1,600 for the children's respite centre.

This is the second year the staff have supported Hope House, but this year's total doubled that raised last year.

Hope House fundraiser Menai Owen Jones said: "We are so grateful for this impressive donation, which helps our 2006 fundraising get off to a good start.

"It costs around £3m a year to maintain our hospice services.

"Most of this money has to be raised through fundraising."
