A TASTE of the orient came to Bruche Primary School last week as children settled down to a Chinese banquet.
The school sampled a variety of Chinese dishes as a way of finding out more about their twin school in Beijing and what pupils there eat for lunch.
Last week the children celebrated Chinese New Year in style with a variety of traditional Chinese activities to mark the Year of the Dog.
Head teacher Ron Anderson was one of 11 head teachers from all over the UK who attended an education conference in China last year to meet with teachers from schools in Beijing.
And as a direct result of the visit, the school was twinned with Number Five Primary School in the Daxing District.
The two schools are now exchanging information and photographs and plans are afoot for staff exchanges some time in the future.
