Hell Brent on rugby league - Grosey's exclusive Guardian column

I CAN'T wait for Sunday.

All the players are pretty excited and we've been raring to go since last September, particularly because we were disappointed with the way we finished last year.

I'm expecting a really tough game against Salford and I think it will be a lot different to the game supporters saw last week.

Both teams will field slightly different sides and the intensity will be a lot better.

It's really important to start well. Last year we were beaten at London and we struggled for a little patch after that.

If we can get a win and start moving in the right direction then that will set us up nicely.

And we'd love a sell-out crowd at the Halliwell Jones on Sunday.

Our supporters are always fantastic and the guys who have come to the club over the years have always said you are the best fans they've ever had. I can't disagree with that.

The support picks us up when our backs are against the wall and can get another 10 per cent out of us. That goes for when things are going well too.

It's been a long off-season for a lot of guys, especially the ones who have come back from operations.

It can be a difficult time for players depending on their situation, but we all stick together and it's been pretty enjoyable training this year.

And apart from relaxing and training during the break, I got married to my fiance and went on honeymoon.

I got married in Wollongong, just south of Sydney. Everything went really well and it was the best day of my life.

It was a pretty large wedding and a lot of people came, including Chris Leikvoll, Darren Burns and a few other rugby league players.

After that we went to Vanuatu, which is a Pacific island, on our honeymoon and had a great time.

The squad went away to Lanzarote a couple of weeks ago, and it helped us because we spent 24 hours a day in each other's company and got to know guys off the field as well.

We discussed a few goals for the season and a lot of the guys have personal goals as well.

My goals are always pretty much the same. I just want to improve on last year and improve my game right across the board, and I'm confident I can do it.

And as a team, I think we can win everything this year.

I have to believe that we have the side to do it - whether or not it happens is totally up to us.

On paper we've got a great team but we've got to put it together on the field.

We're aiming for the number one spot but if you make the top six any side can win it, so I guess the priority at the moment is to be in the semi finals and take it from there.
