Spirited performance

GHOSTLY goings on in one of Britain's most haunted cities were not enough to spook Widnes psychic James Griffiths.

Last week the medium - who is the World newspaper's online psychic - took part in a three-day ghost tour of York after being approached by the makers of Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns. The events were screened live by satellite channel Living TV.

He said: "They wanted to stage a lone vigil within a location in York, which turned out to be a library, and to see what happened.

"After I'd done an hour they brought in a celebrity, Mark Moraghan, from Holby City and Brookside and we stayed another hour.

"There was someone crawling on the floor and the temperature kept changing.

"At one point there was a cold draft and I looked at Mark's face. It was totally different. He had a bald head and sticky out ears.

"The spirit had taken over his body - it's called transfiguration."

James described the experience as 'exhilarating' and also had kind words to say about Derek Acorah, who joined him at the end of the day to try and unravel the spooky events.

"Meeting him was an experience," he said.

"I've read all about what people say about him but I found him to be a really, really nice guy."
