Delegation presses town's case

A DEPUTATION is going to London next Wednesday to lobby MPs on the need for an improved transport infrastructure as part of the regeneration of Northwich.

Representatives from Northwich Regeneration Partnership and Northwich businesses will raise the profile of the Northwich Vision, a 15-year regeneration plan that will see more than £200million invested in the town.

To help deliver this future, Northwich needs an urban link road and a new bridge to cross the River Weaver to improve traffic conditions and enable sites to be brought forward for development.

Clr Keith Musgrave, leader of Vale Royal Borough Council, said: "We see this visit as a perfect opportunity to raise the profile of Northwich as a vital part of the Cheshire and north west economy.

Clr Arthur Wood, lead councillor for regeneration, added: "Establishing a new urban link road and lift bridge over the Weaver Navigation is vital in creating the transport infrastructure improvements necessary for the regeneration of Northwich.

"It will allow the full development potential of the town centre and wider areas to be realised."
