GBH charge laid after samurai sword attack

A MAN has appeared before magistrates in connection with a violent stabbing.

Ben Caldwell, aged 21, of Alder Lane, Orford, was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm after Jason Jenks was attacked with a samurai sword on Alder Lane, last Tuesday.

The 35-year-old victim was taken to Warrington Hospital with serious injuries.

Caldwell will next appear at Warrington Crown Court on Friday.

Five other men - a 29-year-old, two 21-year-olds, a 19-year-old and an 18-year-old - arrested in connection with the incident, were bailed by police until March 15.
