'Exciting' times ahead says new ad boss

THE new group advertising manager of Guardian Series newspapers said there are interesting and exciting expansions ahead.

Lynne Woods has just taken up the role for Newsquest Cheshire/ Merseyside and is looking forward to the job 'immensely'.

She said: "I think there are some really great opportunities for businesses here. It won't be long before the market place will see interesting and exciting expansions to what we are already offering."

Lynne has previously worked as a commercial director for Unique on Magazines like Red and Elle, as managing director of Radio City, and in radio for Emap. But the Chester resident started life working in newspapers in Cheshire.

She added: "I started in newspapers and I wanted to come back. There's something about working in this environment that gets into your blood."

Lynne believes her experience of different media will bring a fresh angle to Guardian Series, but she stressed the vital role of local newspapers.

"People lead busy, modern lives and local newspapers operate as a vital way for supplying the information people want and need."
