Daffy duck is quackers about his new canine pals

HE LIVES in a kennel and eats Pedigree Chum.

Trouble is, Daffy is a duck.

Despite his feathered appearance the young duck has adopted a few canine ways while staying at Cheshire Dogs Home.

"Daffy has taken centre stage here. He struts around the kennel just like a dog and eats their food," said John Newton, senior supervisor at the Knutsford Road dog refuge. "When all the other dogs start barking, the duck joins in and quacks at the same time."

To fit in with his four legged friends, the little duck sleeps in a dog basket, although his is filled with water.

But four weeks earlier Daffy had been left for dead until the dogs home came to the rescue.

Mr Newton added: "We thought he would die from the gun shots to his legs so took him and made him comfortable.

"Now he's a plucky little character and a unique addition here."
