Tyrrell trial delayed again

FORMER Halton Mayor Pat Tyrrell was due to stand trial this week accused of electoral fraud.

But the case of the Castlefields councillor, who denies two charges of personation, was adjourned at Knutsford Crown Court on Monday pending further evidence. The 74-year-old's trial is expected to now go ahead in May - almost two years after his arrest in June 2004.
