TASTY morning treats have been on the menu as one Wimboldsley guesthouse embraces the national Farmh

Mum and daughter team Margery and Trish Reade are whipping guests up into a frenzy as they serve up bacon, sausages, omelettes and cheese on toast at their Hopley House store, in Nantwich Road, as part of the Home Grown Cereals Association (HGCA) seven-day celebration.

Margery, who has been at the Defra-funded guesthouse, tearoom and shop for more than 20 years, believes the key to keeping customers happy is using Cheshire produce. She added: "I am a great believer in serving fresh, locally sourced produce. Cheshire has a wonderful range of high quality food suppliers and I get great satisfaction from using the finest products the region can offer to make the best breakfasts available for our customers.

"Buying local is a great way of cutting down on food miles and reducing waste from excess packaging, and I am pleased to be able to offer an alternative to mass produced and imported foods and to support Cheshire farmers and suppliers."

Rural Development Service adviser Ruth Prinold said more business owners should follow Margery's example.

She added: "We are proud to be able to support businesses in the north west and have funded 19 farmhouse bed and breakfasts through the Rural Enterprise Scheme.

"It is particularly rewarding when projects such as this one are not only extremely successful in themselves, but also actively seek to support other regional businesses by sourcing their food from the many excellent suppliers we have in the region.

"We are sure Margery's lucky customers will continue to enjoy fantastic Cheshire food, not just during Farmhouse Breakfast week but all year round."
