Love story helps combat cancer

A POIGNANT love story, full of laughter and tears, is being performed to help combat breast cancer.

Another Kind Of Love will be staged for one night only, Saturday, February 25, at 7.30pm in The Brindley.

"I wrote and directed it last year as a one act play for new writers," said Pam Taylor.

"It received such an exciting response, I decided to re-write it to full length.

"As a number of my family members and friends had suffered and been affected by this miserable illness, I decided to raise awareness and some funds."

The story follows Jessica and Simon Hannon, who have moved to the country after the death of their young son.

However, a year on, Jessica has become withdrawn and almost a recluse.

Eventually, she plucks up the courage to go out and discovers a small church, where she meets Father Dominic.

The drama follows the path of this young priest's faith and a mother's search for understanding.

Proceeds will go to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Challenge.

Chatterbox Productions have teamed up with children from De La Salle School who perform as a choir. Tickets priced £9 are available from the box office on 0151-907 8360.
