Health centre to open

SEXUAL health services in mid Cheshire have been strengthened by the opening of a new £1.25m centre at Leighton Hospital.

The purpose-built Centre for Sexual Health opened on Thursday and has its own reception and waiting area, soundproofed consulting and treatment rooms, a health advisor room and a pathology laboratory service.

Consideration has been given to all aspects of patient care, including dedicated patient record facilities, a play area and baby changing facilities.

Moira Grobicki, nurse practitioner and acting manager for the centre said: "We have a fantastic, state-of-the-art facility that is three times the size of our old base. Both staff and patients have commented on how much the move is welcomed.

"We can now see people in more appropriate and modern surroundings, which is vital because more and more people are accessing sexual health services."
