CAMPAIGNERS have hit back at claims they waged a misinformed campaign in the battle to stop Lymm Skate Park.
They have branded the allegation 'nonsense' after parish and borough councillors blasted them at last week's meeting of the development control committee.
They were defeated by a unanimous vote last Wednesday night that will see the small skate park built in Ridgeway Grundy Park.
Lymm parish council and the police were in favour of the park and borough councillor Sheila Woodyatt told the meeting anxious residents had based their campaign on 'a lot of misinformation'.
Keiran Walshe, who has applied for village green status for the park in an effort to block the plan, said: "Lots of people in Lymm had to write to the planning department because the parish council has completely refused to talk about it."
