Man to face drugs charge

AN 18-year-old Liverpool man will return to Northwich Magistrates Court on Monday to face charges relating to possession of Class A drugs.

Thomas Allan, of Brae Street, Wavertree, was arrested after police swooped on a silver Ford Focus at traffic lights in Winnington, following a surveillance operation and reports it had been involved in drug dealing activity.

They recovered a quantity of diamorphine and crack cocaine from the vehicle, two mobile phones and a moneybag containing a 'substantial amount' of cash and the defendant was charged with possession with intent to supply of both substances.

He is remanded in custody until his next appearance.

A 14-year-old Barnton girl was also arrested on the same charges and was bailed to return to court on October 24.
