Help us to do something worthwhile

RAISING money for local charities is fun and worthwhile, says the president of Westbrook Lions.

John Van Dusen runs the group that fundraises for causes beneficial to Westbrook, Callands, Penketh and Sankey residents.

He said: "We do all sorts of different fundraising events and it is a lot of fun.

"However, our numbers have dwindled to five so we do need more people to join.

"The more members we have the more money we can raise for local people."

As well as fundraising for groups, the Lions helps individuals in need.

For example, it has helped families whose houses have burned down to be rehomed.
