Car breaks through car park railings

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to secure a car that crashed through the railings of a sports club in Warrington town centre on Monday.

The incident happened at the JJB fitness club, off Bank Street, during the afternoon when an elderly man was trying to put his ticket into the machine in the car park.

A spokesman for Warrington fire station said it was not yet clear what has caused the incident.

He said: "The gentleman had tried to put his ticket in the machine but he was the wrong way round. We are not sure what caused it but the car went forward and through the fence.

"The fire service was called to ensure the vehicle was made safe."
