Lymm 20
Vale of Lune 17
LYMM kicked off the new term in Rugby Football Union North Two West with a home victory.
They should have scored more points than they did during the first half and will need to make fewer mistakes in future games but they should be happy with the commitment shown.
Wayne Mason, formerly of London Welsh and Roslyn Park, made his debut at tight head prop as did Adam Bray at hooker.
Impressive Bray, who came through the mini and junior sections and played for England under 19s last season, set up one try for Chris Kinsey, whose second try from a Paul Morris break was the clincher.
Lymm's other scoring came from a penalty by stand-off Nick Shaw, a try by centre Mark Berry and a conversion by Morris.
Lymm: Martin Bower, Ben Murphy, Mark Berry, Paul Morris, David Roberts, Nick Shaw, Chris Kinsey (Lewis Hollington 70mins), James Fergusson, Adam Bray (Adam Cox 57mins), Wayne Mason, Andy Whittle, Simon Walter, Tom Mann (Christian Bury 40mins), Peter Millachip, Mark Sutton.
* Lymm travel to Winnington Park on Saturday but they will be minus a few players who are attending a wedding.

A BLEND of youth and experience showed the way in an excellent North West Intermediate League Premier Division win by Lymm's seconds.
Seven colts starred, with Tom Baker and Jack Johnstone making up an effective half-back partnership. Johnstone scored a try and kicked four conversions.

PROMOTED Lymm will mainly face clubs' second teams in the Fairclough Homes Second Division and Saturday's second-half recovery offers great hope.
Lymm started the game with an inexperienced pack and fell 29-0 behind by half time but colts Bruce Rose, Glen Howson, Jake Widdrington and Sam Paul contributed to their excellent second-half display.
Steve Williams scored two tries and Paul Rathbone also touched down.
