Scooter rider hurt in A49 collision

A MOTORIST has been injured in a crash on the A49 just yards from the scene of a fatal crash in December.

A scooter rider was involved in the collision on Friday, five days after a woman was air lifted to hospital with neck injuries after she was in collision with a car.

Both accidents were only around 50 yards from where Whitley man Robert Lewis died when his car was in collision with a HGV travelling in the opposite direction.

His widow Kathleen, from Nook Farm in Marsh Lane, Whitley, said: "We just can't let things go on as they are."

"We have got to try and do something."

The most recent accident with the man on the scooter was near the junction with Smithy Lane, by the Holly Bush Pub, near Legh.

Pub owner Peter O'Connor had his cottage demolished by the HGV after the collision with Mr Lewis' car left it out of control.
