Speed limit is planned

COUNCILLORS are expected to endorse a proposed speed limit reduction on Middlewich Road in Sandbach.

The borough council's highways and transportation local joint committee is expected to support plans for a 30mph speed limit along a one-kilometre stretch of the A533.

The stretch, which runs from Sandbach High School to Elworth Primary School, currently has a 40mph limit, but has been assessed with a view to a reduction.

The assessment found that the stretch's two schools, nine junctions and 73 accesses made the reduction justified.

Subject to the endorsement at next week's meeting, the reduction will be formally advertised before being implemented, providing no objections are unresolved.
