Zero tolerance on litter

COMMUNITY wardens in Sandbach are continuing their fight against litter louts by handing out fixed penalty fines.

One young man was handed a £50 fine for dropping litter on the floor in the town centre as wardens patrolled the area.

Tim Kingston, senior community warden, said: "We are now very active in issuing fixed penalty tickets for litter.

"We have made the public aware that we have these powers, and now we are determined to use them."
