MURDER INVESTIGATION: MAN ARRESTED

A WINSFORD man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following an incident at a pub in Middlewich last night, Thursday.

Police confirmed that the 26-year-old had been arrested along with four others - three males and one female - who are suspected of assisting an offender.

Police and paramedics were called to The Vaults, on Wheelock Street, at around 11.30pm, where they found a male with severe injuries.

Subsequent attempts to resuscitate him failed.

The victim has been confirmed as a 27-year-old man from the Middlewich area, although police have made it clear it is too early to establish the cause of death.

A post mortem examination is due to be held later today, Friday.
