WITNESS APPEAL AFTER ATTACK

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in the early hours of Sunday as he walked across a park in Barnton.

The 28-year-old was walking across Princess Park at its junction with Runcorn Road at around 8.30am when he was accosted by two men who punched him in the face, causing bruising to his eyes and cheeks and cuts to his lips.

The pair took his watch and mobile phone before pushing him into a hedge and running off.

The only description to date is that the offenders are both white and approximately 5ft 9in.
