GRAHAM Appo will be the overseas Wolves player who moves over for the arrival of Australian superstar Andrew Johns.
Appo's current shoulder injury was threatening to leave him unavailable for a third successive game this weekend and so Wolves have de-registered him for the time being.
Only three imports are allowed on Wolves' quota but if 'Joey' Johns, Nathan Wood or Brent Grose become sidelined through injury between now and the end of the season then utility back Appo could be re-registered again.
If the three Aussies remain fit and healthy it could turn out that the 31-year-old, whose contract runs out at the end of the campaign, has played his last game for the club.
Wolves' head coach Paul Cullen said: "It is an unfortunate time of the season for Graham to get injured.
"The option is there for Graham to be still available for us if any one of the other three overseas players becomes injured.
"Whether Graham wants to take up that option, or chooses not to do because it is too difficult for him, is his decision and we'll support him either way.
"Contractually he is secure and he won't lose out financially in this situation."
Appo, who joined Wolves from French club Lezignan in 2002, was informed of the club's decision on Tuesday as the preparations mounted for the Super League clash with Salford City Reds at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday, kick-off 3pm.
Meanwhile, Wolves have been linked with two potential signings over the past week.
Bradford Bulls' announcement that full back or winger Stuart Reardon will be leaving Odsal at the end of the campaign has refuelled speculation in the media that he is to join Wolves, whose chiefs continue to offer no comment on such a move.
Reports that New Zealand Warriors' back row forward Sione Faumuina is to join Wolves for the rest of the season proved to be off the mark. It is Challenge Cup winners Hull FC who are close to gaining his signature.
