STUDENTS and staff at St Nicholas School are celebrating after GCSE results rose above the 80 per cent mark for five or more A*-C passes - for the second year running.
This year's pass rate equals the record-breaking figure of 2004 and the hard work and coammitment of pupils, excellent teaching and high levels of support provided by parents were all contributing factors.
A school spokesman said: "The school is particularly pleased everyone in Year 11 achieved at GCSE. Success is apparent across the ability range, with certificates in the lower grades representing some very high quality results for some of the students."
Students achieving at a significantly high level included Rosie Hoskins, with 11 A*s, Hannah Wroblewski, with nine A*s and two As, and Elizabeth Burgess, with eight A*s and three As.
