PUPILS at The Grange have capped a fantastic fortnight for the school after once again racking up record results in their GCSEs.
Overall achievements have never been better with 78 per cent of all exams taken awarded A* or A grades and no fewer than 35 pupils gained A or A* in all their subjects.
Seven individuals received letters from the AQA Examination Board to congratulate them on their outstanding success with the school claiming four of the top five marks in religious studies.
Department head Vanessa Buckley was understandably delighted and said: "Students have achieved the highest grades for many years.
"The group has worked extremely hard and we are very proud of them."
Among the top achievers were Sergey Goryunov, from Hartford, who received 11 A* or A grades, including a top score in his native Russian.
Kiron Athwar, also from Hartford, was also celebrating after racking up nine A* grades.
Headteacher Christopher Jeffrey said: "These GCSE results represent a very special achievement for our pupils and their teachers.
"All our young people have worked really hard to ensure that they have done the best that they can and deserve to take great pride in the fact that they have produced the best results the school has seen.
"We are particularly delighted for those whose efforts have been so spectacularly rewarded with national recognition and for the religious studies department - to achieve four of the top five places nationally in a single exam taken by so many pupils must be unique."
