Are you living life to the full?

A NEW service offering information and advice on learning, training and work opportunities for adults has been launched in Warrington.

The aim of the service, called nextstep, which is funded by the Learning and Skills Council, is to support all adults aged 20 plus at all stages of life, whether employed or unemployed, with information and advice.

It offers free learning and work information to any adult who requires it and can provide additional support to those with low or no qualifications.

Liz Shire, manager for nextstep services across the town, said: "Recent research has shown that more than a third of people in the north west feel that they are not living up to their potential and a sixth think that their lives are 'stuck in a rut'.

"Many people have little or no knowledge of IT and find that this is affecting their career development.

"A high number of adults with learning difficulties or disabilities are looking for help in finding employment. Other people may want to take their interests and skills and turn them into a career. We can help by providing free information and advice about new jobs, how to get help with childcare, where people can go if they are looking to improve their maths and English, financial help for training and where a person with a disability can go for assistance.

"The nextstep one-to-one advice service is here to help people with low level qualifications who want to improve their skill level and their work and careers options.
