Family pay tribute to crash victim

THE family of a woman killed in a collision in High Legh have paid tribute to her warmth and affection.

As reported in last week's Warrington Guardian, Geraldine Holmes, aged 43, and from High Legh, died after her blue Mercedes Compressor collided with a garden wall last Sunday.

Her car then collided with an on-coming green Ford Galaxy at the junction of Warrington Road and Heath Lane.

The former communications officer died at the scene.

Her family issued the following statement: "In work, a conscientious hard working person who held the respect and friendship of her colleagues within Merseyside Police.

"In life, Geraldine was warm, friendly and affectionate, always ready to help wherever and whenever needed.

"She has left a void of such depth that the family will struggle to know where to begin. However, we are deeply grateful of the time we shared."
