CONGLETON Town are seeking to continue their superb start to the season with further FA Cup success tomorrow.
The Bears won their first two games and followed it up with a 2-0 home win over Romulus on Saturday.
The victory came in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup, setting up another home tie tomorrow against Corby Town in the preliminary round.
Saturday's victory has seen Congleton hit six goals without reply in their first three games of the season.
With Mike Burns dislocating an elbow after a midweek fall, Bears' boss Paul Moore was forced to draft in Paul Johnson.
Romulus were also unbeaten going into the match, which saw the Bears take the lead after only 10 minutes.
Congleton claimed Phil Howard was brought down in the box by the Romulus centre half but the referee awarded a free kick outside the area.
Phil MacDiarmid raced up to drill the free kick waist high and seemingly a foot past the post.
But Howard made contact with the ball with his stomach, sending the despairing keeper the wrong way.
The visitor's first real threat came from Robinson, who found himself unmarked and headed straight at Bears' keeper Terry McCormick.
Congleton thought they had conceded a penalty just before the break when Robinson went down as he rounded the diving McCormick.. But the referee booked him for diving.
McCormick was called into action at the start of the second half when he had to back-pedal to reach a cross which was dropping just under his bar.
He flicked it out to the Romulus right but the ball was returned dangerously just inside the far post.
McCormick flung himself across the goal to push the ball away and struck the post in the process.
The Bears' keeper kept his side ahead 10 minutes later when he produced another first class save to block a shot by Fagan.
Congleton gave themselves some breathing space with a second goal 21 minutes from the end.
A quickly taken free kick found Howard on the left, MacDiarmid followed up in support and played in a low cross to the near post.
Mark Westworth turned it goalwards but keeper Harris made a fine stop.
Steven Wynne saw his shot blocked on the line but Jamie Horrocks forced the ball over the line from close range.
