Ninth for Cunningham at Oulton Park race

WARRINGTON racing driver Andy Cunningham made up several places to finish ninth in the Ford XR Challenge at Oulton Park on Saturday.

Cunningham qualified in eighth in his Ford Escort XR3i, but spun on the opening lap to leave himself well down the field before a strong drive saw him recover several positions.

Chris Chisnall finished second in his class and fifth overall in the Opal Telecom Formula Ford Championship after starting on the second row of the grid.

Ian Howard was seventh in his class in his Van Diemen in the same event, while Paul Hardman had a steady drive in the Xtreme Mini Championship.
