Thieves stole my bike - twice

A MUM has appealed to the heartless thieves who have stolen two bikes from her five-year-old son in the space of a month.

Diane Bond, of The Fairways, issued the plea after the bikes belonging to her son, Bradley, were stolen from the family garden.

She said: "My little boy is absolutely distraught.

"The first bike was taken about a month ago and our neighbour felt so sorry for Bradley that she gave him a virtually identical replacement - but now that one has been stolen too."

Diane is hoping whoever has the bikes will return them to Bradley in time for his birthday next week.

She said: "There's no way we can afford to buy him another one even though we would really like to.

"It's just frustrating that you can't leave a bike in your own garden without it going missing.

"It was a wonderful gesture for a neighbour to give us a bike like that, but it is equally annoying when it goes missing so soon after.

"To have one bike stolen is bad enough, but to have two go missing is really upsetting for a five year old boy.

"Our neighbour is just as upset as we are because he knew how happy Bradley was when he was given the bike."

Diane is hoping there may be an innocent explanation for the disappearance of the bikes.

She said: "It may be that another child has taken it home by mistake so I'm asking parents to think about whether their son or daughter has come home with a bike that isn't theirs."
