A WINSFORD man is 'standing up for his principles' by offering a £1,000 reward to catch the thieves who raided his home.

Arthur Warner, 49, of Middlewich Road, was left fuming when he returned from holiday last week to find his home had been burgled and £5,500 of fishing equipment stolen.

He said: "This isn't about the money it is just about bringing these people to justice.

"It is about time we started to stand up against these criminals.

"For me it is a matter of principle and it would give me immense satisfaction if I was able to catch whoever has done this."

Arthur is the owner of Sam's Cabs and is 'disgusted' that someone would take property he paid for with hard earned money.

He said: "I work long hours both day and night to earn my money so why should someone be allowed to just come into my home and take what doesn't belong to them?

"I'm determined they aren't going to get away with it because as well as taking my property, they have violated my home and my privacy."

The burglary took place between August 2 and 3 and Arthur is hopeful someone in the community knows who is responsible.

He said: "Only the fishing tackle was stolen so I think whoever did this must have already known it was there.

"Someone out there must know who did this and £1,000 is a lot of money to ignore just to protect a pathetic criminal.

"I have now spent thousands of pounds installing extra security such as CCTV at my home but it is very sad that I should have to do that.

"It shouldn't be necessary to spend your own hard earned cash just to protect what you have.

"But people must not be allowed to get away with this and I'm one man determined to protect my rights and my property from anyone who threatens it."
