Pupils look at college life

CURRENT Year 10 pupils from Birchwood High School have visited Priestley College in order to get a taste of further education.

The pupils were able to explore the college and also take part in a range of taster sessions.

Subjects including English, business, psychology, media, science and geology were offered to the group, which was also invited to take part in a football match against the college's centre of excellence squad.

Among the other highlights was an opportunity to mix with ex-students from Birchwood who had made the transition to Priestley.

Senior tutor Mel Jackson, who organised the events, said: "It was great to welcome the Birchwood pupils into college for what proved to be an interesting and exciting day. From the feedback received they enjoyed the experience and we look forward to seeing them again in the future."
