Kingsley are Styal-ish

KINGSLEY travelled to Styal on Saturday hoping to continue their recent excellent run of form, and continue their late promotion challenge in the Cheshire Cricket Alliance first division.

On winning the toss Kingsley elected to bat on what seemed a hard flat pitch.

These assumptions proved accurate as the Kingsley batsmen had great fun in amassing a huge total of 249-3 off just 39 overs.

Elliott (40) got the ball rolling with some impressive shots and Rowlands (56) came to the crease and showed immense power in a superb knock.

But the true star of the innings was once again Kieron Ollier (102no) who punished the Styal bowling attack.

Kingsley declared early to give themselves maximum chance of taking 25 points and this is what they did.

Opening the bowling, Jonny Ollier and Burden got wickets in their opening spells, and were followed by Alderman, with all of them claiming three victims.

Of the Styal batsmen only Baig (92) took it to the Kingsley attack, hitting some beautifully timed shots all around the wicket. However, his partners fell around him and Styal collapsed to 180 all out.
