New network helps parents

A NEW network for organisations working with parents in the north west has just been launched.

In today's society the pressures that new parents face is ever-increasing with more than one in 10 new mums feeling lonely, isolated and in need of more support and information.

Research also shows that how a new parent is supported in their early months of parenting has a huge influence on the experience they have.

Many parents say they don't know about the services that are available to them and many health professionals are not aware of the services offered by voluntary organisations.

The new north west Reaching Out project aims to address these issues with a one stop website for parents making it easier for them to find out what's happening in their area.

If your organisation would like to join the north west network and would like an invite to the networking conference then log onto www.reaching-out.org.uk now.

For more information about details of the project contact Alison Macleod on 0870 066 8935.
