Garden club prunes shows

BIDDULPH Chrysanthemum and Garden Club is to hold two shows each year instead of the usual three vegetable and flower shows.

Another change being introduced by the club is that floral art will be an important section in the late show.

The vegetable and early chrysanthemum show takes place on Sunday, September 4, and the late chrysanthemum show is being held on Sunday, November 6.

"The late show also includes a section on handicrafts, with eight different classes," said club secretary Clifford Fielding.

"There is also a new section on floral art, which will include exhibits on the themes of rags to riches and beachcomber.

"The club is very keen that this new venture is a success."

Both shows will be held at Knypersley Sports and Social Club, and for more details ring Mr Fielding on 01782-515929.
