Public inquiry set to decide on controversial Lymm site

A TWO-DAY public inquiry will be held to decide on plans to build 200 homes in Lymm.

Permission has already been granted to build 200 homes on land at Oughtrington Lane and Longbutt Lane. However, the detailed plans were thrown out by councillors last year.

They said the homes would be too big and ugly for the area.

An inquiry will start on November 1 with a Government planning inspector holding the final say.

Battles over the future of the field have been running for more than five years and have been fought in the High Court in London.
