Title hopes sunk?

KNYPERSLEY CC's title-challenge faded agonisingly because of last Saturday's rain.

Hopes were high of getting back into the NSSC Premier Division chase with a plum home fixture against rock-bottom Betley.

But chances of maximum points were washed away without a ball being bowled.

And even worse, rivals Moddershall and Longton benefited with victories in two of only three surviving matches.

Now fourth, Knypersley are left ruing their luck after falling 44 points behind top spot.

They travel to Porthill Park, tomorrow.

The 2nd XI also saw no play at Betley and entertain Porthill Park, tomorrow.
