BIDDULPH Vics boss Terry Greer is on the lookout for a striker after back-to-back losses.
With last season's top scorer James Marrow gone, along with most of the club's old hands, Greer has a tough job on his hands.
The Vics suffered a disastrous start to their Midland Football Alliance campaign with a 5-0 hiding at Romulus, last Saturday.
But though they went down 3-1 at home to Boldmere St Michaels on Tuesday night, Greer was happy with the obvious improvement. He believes the addition of a top striker could make a difference.
"We had a few missing on Saturday so our young lads were thrown in at the deep end," explained Greer.
"We can't compare financially with other clubs but we will try to get players in who we can improve.
"I thought we were 300 per cent better against Boldmere and a bit unlucky to lose but they had two quality forwards who made all the difference.
"I think a 20-goal striker would make a difference to us. Tom Pope is a good lad but he needs someone alongside him who can score 20-plus goals a season."
Boldmere were 2-0 up thanks to Jimmy Quiggin and Scott Burge's own goal.
But they rode their luck with two Vics efforts cleared off the line and one cracking a post.
Kevin Charley made it 3-0 on 58 minutes while Biddulph woes continued with debutant Ryan Dicker sent off. Steve Gunby, who saw red at Romulus, converted a consolation penalty.
Biddulph visit Westfields, tomorrow, with a home tie versus Tipton Town on Tuesday, KO 7.45pm.
