Sporty motors may be thieves' target

POLICE are warning sports car owners to be extra cautious as professional thieves could be targeting high-powered vehicles in the area.

A Honda S2000 sports convertible worth more than £25,000 was stolen in Endon last weekend and police are concerned that more may follow.

Sgt Lindon Evans, of Biddulph Community Action Team, said: "These kinds of thefts tend to be done by professional thieves stealing to order and on previous experience they will try to take more than one vehicle whilst in the area.

"We are warning owners of these types of cars to be very wary."

Thieves look for opportunities to steal car keys, usually by 'fishing' through the letterbox for keys left on a hall table.
