Oakmere ladies see off Chester challenge

OAKMERE Ladies got their revenge in the away fixture at Chester Boughton Hall on Tuesday evening.

The home side batted first and made a formidable 134-2 from their 20 overs.

In reply, Oakmere opened with Shami Ahmed (23) and Claire Waterhouse (17).

After just six overs Oakmere were well on the way with 50 runs on the board.

Claire Lishman (11) and Jane Tarpey (16 no) added to Oakmere's tally.

Unfortunately, the game was called in the 15th over due to bad light.

The match was therefore decided on the scores after the last full over played.

Oakmere's run rate had been above Chester's throughout and after 14 overs Chester had been on 90 compared to Oakmere's 105, therefore Oakmere were handed the win due to having a better run rate.
