Railway exhibition is on the right track

AN EXCITING model railway exhibition is coming to Warrington.

It will feature a range of track layouts, from circuits especially designed for children, to ones inspired by the Far East.

The exhibition is being put on by Warrington Model Railway Club and will include displays from association members from all over England..

There will be 18 layouts in 8,000 square foot, all housed at Woolston High School.

Exhibition manager Ian Downing said: "One club member went to China on a family holiday and from photographs, he was inspired to build the Changchun loco shed, and Chinese locomotives.

"There will also be a turntable of locomotives, complete with a smoke effect."

He added: "Children will be able to operate trains on the Thomas railway layout."

Other layouts include the award winning North Leith Citidal terminus, East Lancs Railway, Ribble Steam Railway and Ffestiniog Railway.

Wheelchair access, refreshments and free parking will be provided.

The exhibition is on Saturday, September 3 from 10am to 6pm, and on Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

Tickets cost £3.50 for adults, £2 for children, concessions are £2.50 and a family ticket is £9.
