PLANS to build a hotel, apartments and shops in a well-known town centre location have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council.
Briden Construction has been working on the proposals for 18 months.
The company wants to build the new development on the former Thomas Lockers site on Farrell Street and Church Street.
A lease on the building is thought to have run out and the current occupiers are to move to new premises.
If planning permission is granted, the most notable part of the plans would be a 56-bedroom hotel - which would also include a bar and restaurant.
That would be on the upper level of the development. Four retail units would be built on the ground floor and 20 apartments could be built on the first and second floors.
Parking would also be included within the development.
The applicant has also had to apply for listed building and conservation area consent, as part of the development would be in Church Street, where a number of protected buildings are located.
The plans would involve the current building - believed to date back until just after the Second World War - being demolished.
The company says the new building would be a 'modern interpretation of the Victorian terraces seen around Warrington'.
The building would use glass, cladding, brick and terracotta.
Access to the new development would be via Church Street.
