Cannabis plants seized in drug raid

A DRUGS raid has recovered a 'significant amount' of cannabis in Culcheth.

Police entered the house with a warrant and discovered 19 plants of the class C drug, along with drugs paraphernalia and producing equipment.

A 22-year-old man was arrested and subsequently charged with supplying class C drugs, possession of class C drugs with intent to supply, and possession of class A drugs.

He has appeared before Warrington Magistrates' Court and was bailed to reappear on Wednesday, August 17.

A member of Warrington Police drugs unit said: "Every six to eight weeks each plant was producing two grams of cannabis, which equated to £3,500 worth of produce.

"Taking out low level drug activity will help to combat drug dealing on a higher level."
