Trust hands out £8,000 to charities

SMALL Warrington charities are £8,000 better off after successful bids to Warrington Charities Trust.

On July 26, the trust gave out 19 grants to small charity and voluntary groups in the town ranging from a society for people bereaved by suicide to Crosfield's Under 16 rugby league team.

Jack Froggatt, trustee, said: "The groups we help are very small but do an enormous amount of good for the town's people.

"They are not the big guns with fundraisers.

"They are groups that need small amounts of funding but it can be difficult for them to find the money."
