Stephanie's made a fairy nice gesture for charity...

TINKERBELL was out and about in Warrington last week to raise funds for disabled children.

Peter Pan's fairy friend, alias 15-year-old Stephanie Brereton, of Great Sankey, ran for one hour around Walton Hall gardens to collect more than £100 in sponsorship.

Kind-hearted Stephanie is with a foster family and after coming through her own emotional difficulties, wanted to help children with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (previously called water on the brain) after seeing her 12-year-old foster brother cope with the condition.

She raised the money for Warrington's Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus support group.

Stephanie said: "I've been through a lot but other children also have a hard time so I wanted to do something to help."

Her proud foster mum, Brenda Kristiansen, said: "I'm made-up that she decided to do something to help the community. Stephanie is a really nice-natured girl but people don't always see that side of her.

"She's has a bad time but hopefully is now pulling through it."
